New NJ Shliach welcomed by Governor Christie The Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, recently held a private Kosher breakfast at the Governor's Residence, Drumthwacket, for a select group of communal rabbis and leaders of the NJ Jewish community.

At the meeting, the Governor asked that each attendee speak about the needs and aspirations of their individual communities, and what they defined as the most pressing issues facing the state's population in general. In addition, the Governor shared his ideas and his proposed solutions to many of the needs that have been identified and are being addressed.

The Governor welcomed warmly Rabbi Ephi Carlebach, who recently opened the state's newest Chabad House to serve the communities of Holmdel, Colts Neck, and northern Monmouth County. Rabbi Ephi, the son of Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, who founded Chabad House at Rutgers University, and Chabad of central and southern New Jersey in 1978, has already been active in many holiday activities, and a Shabbat Minyan. The new Chabad House is located at 14 South Holmdel Rd., Holmdel, NJ

The Governor wished the new rabbi much success in his endeavours, and told the young rabbi that "my hopes are real for you to create a wonderful center in the days ahead."
